The detail
The point of a recovery slide is to give a tired foot something soft with no pressure across the top, which is why the strap here is a single wide band with no stitching on the underside. The whole shoe is injected closed-cell EVA in one piece, so there is nothing to delaminate and nothing to absorb water in a changing room. It is 35mm thick under the heel, which is more than it looks.
